Procedure to apply for Marriage Certificate in Sikkim-
To register marriage under Special Marriage Act 1954, notice of 1 month is mandatory for raising objections to marriage. If no objections received, marriage is registered with Registrar and certificate of it. Witness from both parties are mandatory to visit to offices along with the applicants.
Issuance of Marriage Certificate to Already Married Couple-
Hindu Marriage Act is followed in case of marriage registration of already married couple. The Applicant parties can collect the form from the office of the authorized issuing authority. After filling in the prescribed format, form is to be submitted there.
Documents listed below need to attach with the form-
- Certificate of Identity
- Two Passport Size Photo
- Birth Certificate, Panchayat Report in case of Locals
- Bank Receipt of Rs. 20/-
On receipt of form, concerned officer will send the report to concerned Thana for Police Verification. On getting the report, certificate will be issued to the applicant.
