Marriage Certificate is an important document for every married couple in India. The Marriage Certificate is issued by India government under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 and Special Marriage Act, 1954. You can Apply for Marriage Certificate both Online or Offline Mode. For both procedures you should have the Necessary Documents with you.
Steps to Apply Online for Marriage Certificate-
To apply for marriage certificate online follow the steps below-
- Visit the official website of the Marriage Registrar of your state. You can see Online Marriage Registration link on the same website.
- After clicking online Marriage Registration link, Marriage Registration Form will be appear on screen.
- Fill up the form carefully and Upload all necessary documents.
- Choose your Date of Appointment to Registrar Office.
- Submit the Registration Form.
You will got the acknowledgement slip and then your procedure will be complete.
Apply offline for Marriage Certificate-
To apply for Marriage Certificate offline you have to visit to your nearest sub-registrar office and take an application form for Marriage certificate. You can also download the application form from the official website of your state.Fill up the Application form carefully.
If you want to change the Name of bride after Marriage then write new name in the Application form. Application form should be signed by witnesses, witnesses can be friends or relatives. Form must be signed by three witnesses. After that Submit the Application form to the Sub-Registrar Office with all necessary documents.
When Application form will be verified by office, then 6 printouts of that application will be handed over to applicants. Printouts must be signed by bridegroom and the bride.
